Just the other day I thought of licking the plate just for that reason!! LOL

I sometimes don't count the junk I eat (like today I had heaping spoonful of Nutella with a boatload of marshmellows but didn't put it in my food diary--like somehow you people are going to scold me because I always post in the forums that we should never eating that junk! Sad Do as I say, not as I do Smile

Now, come on people...licking the plate clean is just common sense (ok, as long as you aren't at the family dinner table) Razz Laughing.

I confess to putting fly spray on any left over junk food I throw in the bin (<- and I'm sure I'm not the only one who has to do that).

Okay... a confession involving the dishes. We put a plate on the floor for our pooch to lick off and kid that she's doing the dishes and all we have to do is put it back in the cupboard. Hoping I didn't overly gross out anyone about the dog.

Here's your argument against licking the plate. The calories that you counted and didn't consume (e.g. the ones that are left on the plate, or in the serving bowl) can be used to offset small things that you eat but don't count.

For example, maybe once or twice a week I grab 1-3 M&Ms out of the jar in the office. A single M&M has around three calories, so I figure I'm sneaking in 5-10 calories when I do this. Those are offset by the egg yolk that's left on my breakfast plate, the yogurt that didn't come out of the carton, and the salad dressing that's left in the bottom of the bowl.

Sneaking in 5-10 calories once or twice a week is no big deal... our measurements aren't that precise anyway. However, if you know that you're leaving food behind then you can feel righteous and justified about those small bites.

But Hoser, the calories we don't count WE DON'T COUNT, so in essence, we didn't eat them Smile

Hahaha I think the same thing because I never drink the milk that's left over from my bowl of cereal! Calories that I didn't use so that extra "whatever" is justified lol.

Quitting is NOT an option!

It's definitely possible. I gained a lot of weight with each of my pregnancies. My youngest is 9 months and in the past 7 months I've lost almost 50 lbs through diet and exercise.
