I've been on a weight loss journey since September of last year, and after losing 31 lbs, I've found myself stuck.

I watch my calorie intake, record my exercise, and yet the scale just stays the same.

I need some motivation to push through this plateau!Razz

Ah, yeah...the dreaded plateau. They can be very frustrating when you are doing all the right things and still not losing. But keep going and it will pass Smile. There was a pretty good list of things to try is this thread recently if it seems to be dragging on.

I've survived several plateaus now, and the best advice I can give is to experiment with making small changes to see if that just sets things back on the right track again.

For example, one time I found that by *increasing* my calories by 100cal actually kick started my body into losing weight again. I guess I must have been under eating!

Another time I deliberately maintained for a couple of weeks before trying to lose more, and that worked. It was almost as if my body just wanted a little break to recoup.

I figure a plateau is just your body's way to trying to tell you that you need to change it up a bit. A little variety goes a long way Smile

When I've plateaued in the past it's because I've got in a rut. I can only advise to shake everything up as much as you can.

Make new meals, if you have been generally low carb and high protein, then switch the two for a few days a week.

If you can even change your exercise routine. Try doing morning instead of evenings if that's what you have been doing and see how that works.

I won over the plateau too. Check out my biopage - I put a link to a blog explaining in detail what I did. Smile I know quite a few people here have taken up "my" system, and had it working. Good luck. Smile

Plateaus can be discouraging. What I learned and have told several other people is take your measurements. Even though the scale may not be moving, you may still be losing inches, especially if you are working out. And if that does not work, like everyone else has suggested, trying shaking things up. Sometimes our bodies get too comfortable in our routine and we have to snap them out of it to see any new results.

weigh in
Good luck! I weigh in every day which has to stop. It is too easy to get caught up in the excitement of seeing the scale drop so much in a week-that is because of water weight I am sure.

Need suggestions on healthy/low-calorie foods.
You can use shakes for a few days. I have used the Atkins shakes and they are very good tasting. Soups are good though as stated above you may have to puree them. You could puree or blend cottage cheese ...
