So netcarbs are carb grams minus fiber grams

(and of course there is also issue of sugar alcohols but if you are not a low carber that is probably not too important Smile )

Yes, if you are on a diet like Atkins, you only have to worry about the net carbs.

For simple things like sugar, the carb count and the net carb count will be the same. For complex things like vegetables, the net carb count might be half the carb count. So, you can eat whole vegetables and get more bang for your buck as far as taste and variety go with a lower net carb count.

I was consuming about 225-250 g of carbs from mainly cereals, breads, crackers, pastas and despite a ton of excercise, I couldn't lose any weight. For me, the key was changing what I was eating and I could tell because I feel so much better. Good luck!
