Have been trying to lose weight on my own and failed...bad.
Have just started back here after over a year off and not only did I not lose any weight but I put on about 20 pounds.

Most discouraging is that I am working out at least an hour a day hard.Rolling Eyes

I reward my hard workouts with food and beer and that has put my once lean body of 170lbs into a fat 232lbs as of yesterdaySad

Just start by using the calorie app or this site and see for yourself where you need to make the changes even though you have a general idea but logging everything in helps to make those better choices the next time Smile
1st Goal: 150 lbs
2nd Goal: 135 lbs
3rd Goal: 125 lbs

I did this app before and fell off the wagon. It's worse than starting out again because I got fatter.
Congrats on your progress.

Have you had your thyroid checked? that might be a cause behind your problems? Also try to log everything you're eating, then you will know for sure if you have enough of a calorie deficit to lose weight.

Have you tried low carb ketogenic dieting? I was able to come off my high blood pressure meds within a month of going on Atkins. & I still have over 130+ lbs left to lose.

Theres your reason right there, stick to the app and eat a healthy mixed diet with a caloric deficit

I used to reward myself with food but now I try to do other things...like if I do well, I buy myself a new outfit. Right now my goal is to be able to complete a 5K. When I do, i'm rewarding myself with a nice massage at the spa!

Quitting is NOT an option!
