I made January a "no alcohol month" and let me tell you - it was so much easier to have calories under control! I love beer, but whenever I drink, I CRAVE high-fat, high-carb food. Besides, beer itself already contains a lot of extra calories. I don't usually drink soda at all - maybe home-made kvass every now and then. After a full month of just coffee, tea, and water I don't even really crave any other drinks.
