I did it three years ago. It's a great program. In fact, I would say it contributed to what I now call my running addiction. It's a great way to start slowly (and therefore avoid injury) and build continuously on successes. At the end, I not only finished the race, I won my age group! That was huge for me.

After the C25K try any of the beginner running programs available on Runners World (you pick your deadline 8 weeks, 12, 16, whatever and choose your goal: 10k, half-marathon, triathalon). They're also reasonable and suited to newbies. This next step helped me through the half of the Pittsburgh Marathon last May.

Calories from working at a desk?
Why not enter them. Working at a desk uses calories that should be accounted for in FS, it just uses less than other chores or exercise.
