I haven't completed the full workout yet, but I am only on the 2nd day.
Doing 3-5 more reps each day is the plan.

Anyone else tried it out?

I'm not familiar with it, but you're going about it right. You will make much faster progress by improving slowly than doing something that may injure and sideline you.

How do you log your steps per day? Over goal or all for exercise?
I wish they would update it to log steps. I simply cannot keep track of minutes walking. That would be a daunting task...I gave up logging exercise.
