I don't have fibromyalgia, but I do have chronic joint pain that is yet undiagnosed. I'm having a hard time exercising right now because my joints have been hurting so much with the ups and downs in the weather. In all honesty, when I'm working out consistently it seems like I feel better longer, at least I have a more positive attitude. But, when I've been out of the routine for a while it's hard to get back into it when I'm hurting. I hope that you can find something that eases your pain. I know everybody says it, but if you have access to a pool they say that helps. It costs too much money where I am, so that's out for me. Sometimes getting past the initial pain of even going for a walk can help your pain in the long run. Good luck!!

I have found moving does help, just choose gentle exercises walking, streching, not hard core workouts like sit-ups and such on the floor that will hit the pressure points. Give it a day to evaulate the results of what you did and how your body reacted. If its bad give it a while to settle back down and ease up on what you did or try to modify what you did. This is not a quick process, but what you don't want is to be hitting the hard core pain meds to exercise. I went that route just to work and exercise and after years regretted the long, long recovery to feel normal.
