I'm looking at the weight loss results of most here and am extremely impressed with you all! I am recording everything - but still struggling in keeping carbs between 50-150/day. Not quite certain just what I'm doing wrong - unless not doing enough cardio. I do strive to walk approx 4 miles at least 5 x's per week up some steep hills but I guess that's not enough! Any suggestions?

Don't panic about the carbs. My niece is doing the Atkins diet and she can't have over 20grams of carbs p/day. I am having around 100-120grams of carbs p/day and my trainer told me to have more. It all depends on your energy needs and size. You will find what works for you. It has taken me 3 weeks to work things out with my diet and I am learning new things every day. My trainer told me that wieght loss is 85% diet 15% exercise. Good Luck!!
Start weight 20/04/2013 = 240kg Goal weight 120kg (total loss 120kg)
It won't happen over night, but if you don't give up it WILL happen.

Looking at the food you are eating, it doesn't look like the foods that are permitted on the Cordain Paleo diet. Most Paleo diets do not permit any sweetening, no cocoa, minimal fruit, no grains, no root vegetables, no beans, and no dairy. I suggest you locate a copy of the book and read what it permits.

ok...stupid question....I'm seeing the updated list of our group and the pounds lost (or sometimes gained
but where do you update a post of your own?? I keep going back to my original post to see this box of "quick reply"!! Anyway....I think after rounding out week one, I am going to switch meal plans. Paleo is just not working for me! And I think it's because I'm consuming more protein than ever and on the good days, ok...but if I sway a teeny, tiny bit on let's say Day 6, I'm up a pound or two because of the high caloric protein I've been eating! Just not working! So....I'm going to count calories and probably follow Dr. Fhurman's meal plan with no more than 3 oz of meat, poultry per day (as he prefers high nutrition, complex carbs). Any comments from any of you?

If you are eating Atkins Induction, you want to make sure your daily menu includes plenty of healthy fats, <20-25 carbs of grams, and sufficient (but not too much) protein. Your body converts excess ...

Need suggestions on healthy/low-calorie foods.
I'm reading this while eating some absolutely delightful fresh melon for breakfast. If the melon isn't soft enough on its own you could add it to a fruit smoothie.

Hmmm. Didn't realize plain yogurt was that high in carbs. I mentioned it because the friend who recommended it to me said her parents do it, and they are both on Atkins. I'm doing Paleo, but ...
