Just bought this DVD set and wondering if it actually works - I really hope it does!!

Are there any other workout DVDs that are good?

I know the gym is probably better, but I'm so self concious about my body (why I want to lose weight) I don't want to go and be glared at by other fitter and thinner people (it has happened before!!)

I have this dvd and have done it in the past and yes it works very well. I think she is a little too chipper for my tastes Smile but I really liked the dvd when I did it. I do not think the gym is better, myself. I have done the gym thing many times but there are so many excuses that can get in the way of going and I just don't like the group thing to begin with. I have everything I need to do my workouts here in the privacy of my home and I can do it any time of the day or night I chose. And I don't have to feel self conscious or dress a certain way or anything Smile

I love this old school system! I bought it back in the 90s and did not like it or use it. I pulled it out early last year and have definitely seen results. I had already lost the majority of my weight and was doing some cardio and weight training already. I switched to this system and noticed that my body is much more defined and I am definitely more muscular without being bulky. Although I have continued to lose weight, I think the reason I look better is b/c of this program. I weigh about what I did in high school, but am so much leaner and I am also a smaller size! I only do 20 minutes 4 x week (I break the DVD's up) b/c I work 10-hour days (I do cardio in the morning before work and SI6 in the evening when I get home). Hope that helps - I think it probably took a couple months before I saw a difference, but I felt the difference sooner (if that makes sense). I would take a before and after picture - including your abs! I would have a 6-pack now if I did have extra skin hanging there!

Hi,
I own several workout dvd's. I go to the gym, but sometime I like to mix it up. If you are a female and you like to dance (who doesnt) you could try turbojam or turbofire, it is kickboxing/dance. They have videos that are 15m - 60m and stretch, and strength are included.
I also really love Tae-bo, it makes me feel silly but I am sore the next day. =D
G'luck!

I used to be a gym rat in my 20's. I now prefer to work out at home. I do P90X, P90X2 and Insanity....I have a library of tae-bo videos stretching over 10 years at least. From what I understand of slim in 6 it is great for people who are "new" to working out. If you don't work out often or plan to just get started Slim in 6 sounds like the program to get you going....workouts that are too intense will likely put you off (most people that jump in and try Insanity of even P90X without really modifying the program or working up to their fitness test, usually bail out after a couple of weeks due to soreness, injury..etc.). Good luck and enjoy. Keep pushing play!

Love the Biggest Loser Walking DVD! It is a great place to start after the year of recovery from broken bones and 2 wrist surgeries.

I love the slim in 6! It is a great video for beginners and gets your body accustomed to exercise slowly, one week at a time. It does not get you much weight loss but you will notice the difference in your clothes and the way you feel. It is a good lead up exercise program for Insanity and p90X. I noticed my body getting toner and my stomach area showed greater improvement. I am a lazy bum that constantly needs motivation..so I am always on and off the wagon. When i am off for a long time ..I always start off with Slim in 6....

Slim in 6 is a terrific program. My friend used it and reshaped her body but in 6 weeks?...more like 1 year.

Hi, I totally agree with you. Slim in 6 is great.
I've tried slim in 6, I have all the DVDs, put it this way you're a lot slimmer in 6 weeks, you can certainly see the difference in 6 weeks

Just realized that I have not been doing the actual Slim in 6 DVD's - but the Slim series which looks like it is the more advanced version of Slim in 6. I do have the Slim in 6 DVD's, but I'm not sure they have ever been out of the box Smile The Slim series has different DVD's for different groups - lower body workout, weighted workouts, opposing muscle groups... Those are the ones that I have been doing with success. I'm now wondering if I should try the original slim in 6 for some variation.
