I know I need to go to the gym, but I quit going when they got rid of the only piece of equipment I used -- the JACUZZI ! :-0

right now, eliptical 20-30 minutes. Havent worked out in like 6 months, so starting off slow. My company offers free yoga so want to try that. Plus I am planning on replacing my core ball- you know the big ones, to sit on at work instead of a chair to help with my back issues. Once I have lost a few llbs I want to try a bride- boot camp or something.

P90X2 ...I've done P90X and Insanity and a hybrd of the two. Not too bad for a 40 year old mother of 2 toddlers.

I have weight lifting equipment at home, and I do exercises while I'm doing other stuff. When the weather was good I did long walks, which I hope to do again when it isn't too cold or icy. I tried to run but it bothered my ankles, so I had to stop that.

Thank ya'll for sharing.

@bbody1972, I have seen the commercials for those and I would LOVE to try them but I am just not physically there yet to endure that kind of workout. I hope once I lost the majority of my weight I can do something like that.

Lol I'm glad I'm not alone in the hatred of that machine. I'm treating myself to a treadmill at tax time. I've been talking about it non-stop for the last few months, my fiance is tired of hearing it I'm sure. I'm not sure where you live but it's cold here in IL but not like our usual so the fiance and I went for a walk this morning and tonight in our culdesac. Nothing too crazy just a total of 2 miles between the am and pm walk.

hdp2101.... the great thing about the programs is you can modify the heck out of them and build up to a higher level. That's what I had to do 6 months ago.

There is a guy in the video I tried for the first time yesterday who lost 180lbs and has a fused ankle. They said he really modified the program to his ability at the time and as the weight came off (now this took a long time at the weight he started at) he just kept adding to it. I"m sure he did multiple rounds of P90X. weight training is one of the best ways to lose weight.

I don't use these as much as I did at first but I do a thirty min workout in the morning via You Tubes videos for free and at night I do a 20 min weight workout via You tube videos for free also during the warm months I will be walking again Smile

I just try to commit to moving for at least 30min a day. That can be dancing til I can't breathe using my kinect, jogging (walking) a 4mi loop around a lake near my house. I would jog but my dog has to stop and test wind patterns every few blocks Laughing I also have a wii and I'm getting my gym membership back which means i must I commit to cardio at least 3x/week and lifting 2x/week so my investment is worth it.

I love the eliptical. Tv on, get going slowly then spend 25 to 30 mins at 170 bpm heart rate with 5 mins at the end pushing as hard as I can. Gentle cool down then into jacuzzi for 20 mins to relax and massage the muscles. Bliss Smile

At The Gym:

2 days on, 1 day off (4-5 times a week -- when I'm not being a lazy bum!)
Day 1: 30 minute elliptical + 30 minute circuit (weight) training (upper body focus) + run/walk one mile (working up to running an entire mile @ a 8 min pace)
Day 2: 1 hour elliptical or 30 min elliptical + 30 min stair master

I'm trying to work in some body weight core training exercises on a ~daily basis (crunches, pushups, etc.)

Note: I've been at at this renewed fitness plan almost a year. I started out with 20 mins on the elliptical, 15 mins circuit 3 times a week and built up from there.

If you're starting out, start at something you can actually do, and work up. If you try to go gung-ho from the get go, you're more likely to quit!

I LOVE the elliptical- I'm an addict to the intervals Smile It's how I lost the bulk of my weight thus far.

Right now, though, my workouts are:
Sunday/Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 35 minutes elliptical on high intervals, 30 minutes strength and weight training
Tuesday/Thursdays: Kettle Bell workouts from home
Saturday: REST!

Mine is like 5 days a week of intense Jiu Jitsu sessions of 1h30m, sometimes followed by bike rides, sometimes at leisure and others in fast speed, around 2h-2h30m of moving time, which depending on the speed can mean between 25-55km, I do it with a rather large cycling group.

I'm really into cycling and martial arts, for me it's leisure, not an actual exercise.
I started my weight loss journey seriously on oct 18 of 2012, and so far:

Every other day I run between 2-4 miles (depending on how much time I have that particular day) on the treadmill at 6.5 mph. I finish off with some yoga and that's it.

I don't love running, but it is effective in burning calories! It has simply become a habit now.
