Hi, I'm about to start my diet the day after my birthday and I am so scared that it's not going to work. I tend to get demotivated when I see that I'm not losing anything. I'm worried that I'll fail again and instead just gain, making me more depressed.
I plan to do a regular daily schedule of everyday activities, incorporating a high intensity 4 min work out in the morning and a longer work out in the evening. I also have the Biggest Loser Wii game which I aim to play everyday. I also aim to eat around 1,500 calories per day.I have also bought I pin board with motivational images on it, including some I have made myself. These are the ones I have made:

I am worried it won't be enough. I am desperate to change and become happier. What do you think? Can I do it? Also, what are some techniques you have found works quickly for you?

P.S. Sorry the images are so big

Why would you think you wouldn't lose weight?

Make sure you know your calorie intake and your calorie burn (use the calculators here on Fatsecret) and make sure you consume less than your burn and you WILL lose weight. Promise. Smile

Also, try to keep your body in a "happy" place. Don't go crazy low on your calories, but try to stay at a 500-1500 calorie deficit.

You can do it.

I went from morbidly obese to being the owner of TABDIG - a weight loss coaching service that helps people worldwide losing weight. It's been an amazing journey. From October 4th 2010 to April 3rd 2012 I lost half my body weight - 80 kilos/170 lbs. Since then, I have had two cosmetic surgeries to remove excess skin. I have now quadrupled my strength, gained several kilos in muscle mass, and today I focus on building muscle, optimizing my diet, living healthy and helping people to reach the very same goals. I am stronger, healthier, thinner, happier! If you feel that you need help losing weight, don't hesitate to send me an inbox message.

Consistency is key, I learned that the hard way. Being that weight loss is so important to you and you think you will be easily discouraged by the scale not moving, do not weigh yourself too often. Give your body time to adjust to your new plan and you will see results.

Eliminate self doubt. You are already setting yourself up for failure. Don't concentrate on strenuous exercise that may make you want to give up due to lack of interest, soreness, injuries, etc. You CANNOT outwork a bad diet, no matter how much cardio you do. Work on what you put in your body first. The exercise for wellness and overall health will come once you establish discipline. Ditch the "diet" idea. Most problem eaters need to change their eating habits for the rest of their life if you truly want to succeed and have it stick.

Biggest is to not sweat the swings. On the scale I have seen 7 pound swings up and down, due to fluid retention.

If weight loss is what scares you and you do it to change and become happier, try to concentrate on the second part of the goal. Try to change and be happier first. It is not easy either but it is less measurable, so you will not feel like a failure. List what you want to change about your eating habbits and exercise routines, and choose some items to implement immediately and some to add gradually. It takes 3 weeks to form a habit, so do not try to do everything at once. Choose activities that are fun, walk a lot in the sun (now in winter it is most important to change your brain chemistry and beat winter blues), work on being happy. It requires work and discipline as much as eating healthy. When you are happy and not stressed it is easier to not overeat. And if you do it right the weight will start melting slowly as well. Don't delay being happy, it is more likely that you overeat because you are not satisfied with something in your life than that your life is not what you want it to be just because you have some extra weight. You can do it.
