Hello people! My name is Suzy. I am an 18 year old college student that is ready to start looking and feeling healthy. I have only been overweight.. (kind of my whole life). I am tired of being ashamed of how I look. I hate when I try on clothes and look in the mirror because I don't like what I see. I did the Atkins diet 2 years ago and I lost 25 pounds. Unfortunately, I ruined all that and now I am back to where I started. I really hope lose weight and actually manage to keep it off. If anyone has any advice or help, please message me. Thank you everyone

The best advice I can give you is USE FATSECRET. Download the app to your phone and register your calorie intake. It will tell you how much you're allowed to eat, and it will help you take control of it. Dedicate to it, and you WILL lose weight. Promise.

Hey Suzy - welcome to FS. Can I ask - are you an 'on campus' college student??? or do you live at home and commute to school ???
YOU CAN do this!!! And you can do it AND keep it off! Considering your age, and the fact that you only have aprox 25 lbs to lose... Atkins might not be right for you.
You'd have to obviously make some really diligent LIFESTYLE changes to your eating habits! Permanently.
But Keld is right. The tracking of your 'foods' - will tell you what's up! Sure, you'll need to cut back on some of the 'yummies' - and you'll need to make some changes to 'portions' perhaps... but a slight change in lowering your calories...and a slight change to 'increase' your activity... and you are on your way, girl~
Make this new year...YOURS!!! Find a friend to do this with you! GO FOR IT... and don't look back. (you'll thank yourself). Consider it a second semester project... and don't let yourself off the hook! Think how great you'll feel come June!
RUN after your goals!!! (not literally, unless you like to run!) But do what you need to do...in a healthy way.) The body will come around and adapt...and you will start losing.
So start tracking!!!
Live, Love, Laugh ...make each day memorable and enjoy the journey.

Even though fat doesn't count in Atkins, it can cause you to gain or not lose weight if you consume too much. Be careful of over eating this nutrient. ie: cream, cream cheese.
