I'm not losing WEIGHT. I'm converting FAT to MUSCLE to be healthier.

That is a tough one. After my impersonation of a crack addict over the halloween candy I am a bit worried about the holidays; but just have to keep the goal in mind and the extra piece of pie out of my mouth.

One of the important things that got me through the holiday party season last year was making sure to bring a 'safe' dish and making sure to eat healthy meals the day of the party (meaning don't skip all of your meals in order to 'save up' calories, because it will probably make you go crazy and overeat junk at the party..) I tried to make sure to bring a veggie tray so I had a safe, filling option to turn to first, and then just pick out small little 'tastes' of the few dishes that looked the absolute best.

And another thing, I know it goes against the notion of not wasting food, but if you take something and it's not excellent, don't eat it! There's no sense in 'wasting calories' on something that isn't special/doesn't taste awesome. Smile

I like that idea Erika. That is how I decide if a cheat is worth it. If on a scale of 1 to 10 ...it's a 10 (or 11) then the extra calories are worth it or at least a taste. If it's a 5...not gonna waste my time. Before going to a buffet now I drink a bottle water and have an apple or some veggies so I'm not ravenous....my in laws love buffets.
