If you'd have told me 90 days ago I could enjoy a waffle without butter and syrup I'd have scoffed but I did just that this morning and LOVED it. After making MHs waffles I added cinnamon and raisins to the batter and thought 'give it a TRY at least.' I probably had the same face my daughter has when I try to get her to try sashimi. But it was great! And afterward I didn't have that 'sick' feeling I used to get when I ate waffles. AMAZING .. it's like I'm rediscovering the same foods I have eaten all my life buried beneath unhealthy toppings. This soooooo gives me hope because I know I can't just live on 'limiting foods ' forever - I have to find foods I can eat and ENJOY for the rest of my life while still healthy.


I'm not losing WEIGHT. I'm converting FAT to MUSCLE to be healthier.

Try Walden Farms syrup, very low calorie and tasty. I get Great Value light syrup, only 100 calories per quarter cup and I don't even really need that much.
Consume whatever foods you prefer, whenever you prefer to consume them, while ensuring nutrient sufficiency and meeting caloric goals.

I say KOODO's to you on NO toppings. I have started to enjoy many foods without toppings..... its a whole new flavor and texture for the foods you have always eaten. I started using salsa on my green salads, and I am 98% positive that I will never go back to dressing. I even bar-b-q without sauces or marinade...LOVE IT ! Good on you...keep it up. =)

Ditto that - It's CRAZY that the salad dressings often total more in calories and fat than the actual salad.

I liked the Salsa too but as my system has changed even the mild seems so hot it overpowers me from tasting the actual salad. Yes, I'm a wimp Smile

Most of the time now I just use lemon juice -or- mix a teaspoon of spicy mustard into 1/3 cup of pickle juice to coat.

I do like the spice though so I'm trying to develop a low cal low fat wasabi type dressing too ~ different type of hot without numbing the tastebuds on my tongue.

Ooh yeah, I like salsa on salad. I also like just using balsamic vinegar (in various flavors). I even have some fruit flavored ones that are nice on waffles. I like Van's and Kashi waffles - plain or with fruit or with balsamic vinegar.
