How much calories do we realy need?

everyday I eat about 800-1000 calories less than suggested calorie for loosing weight. but my weight is constant and does not changed during past 3 weeks. all calculation said I should take 1700 calories but even with 1200 and lots of workout I cannot shed any kilos. do you have any suggestion for me?Sad

According to fatsecret, you're body burns about 2100 calories w/o exercise. 30% reduction in calories would bring you down to about 1450-1500 calories. You're usually eating less than that. Shoot for that number. 1000 calorie deficit is 50% reduction which is a bit much.

I think your calories are set too high. I wouldnt completely rely on the FatSecret estimations for calorie intake. I noticed on your weight history chart that when you were consuming approx. 1200 cals. you were losing weight at a good pace. Then around Sept. 12, your weight chart went up a bit as well as your calorie intake.

My first full month I did the calculations from the monthly stats available on the website and by the numbers I should have lost almost exactly double what I actually ended up losing according to the exercise and intake totals. Since then I've not trusted it for anything other than a convenient place to record my daily exercise.

Down from 60" waist jeans since June 21st 2012.

Still keeping to my 26" jeans, but they are too tight for comfort. too many tasty things in the US, and over Xmas.

I had to reduce the calories fat secrets told me to have as well. they said have 1800 a day but from past experience i knew that was far to many, once i reduced it to 1500 a day i have started to slowly loose a bit of weight.
