I have been doing that over the last month and a half. I am doing P90X and on weight days I was adding a cardio workout in the afternoon. I am up at 5 for the morning workout. As long as you stretch and are not at risk for injuring yourself...know your limits.... Your energy level and your body will tell you if you are over doing it...fuel your body too. What are your goals?

I had a personal trainer tell me one time that you should always skip a day between working with weights to rest your muscles. He said that when you lift weights that the muscles go through some changes that require a day to rest and get ready for the next workout. I used to do cardio work outs twice a day and it seemed that I was unable to lose weight when I added the extra workout. The trainer told me I was using to many calories for my workouts and my body thought it was starving and I needed to eat more to lose weight. This didn't make sense to me, but it worked.
