I started peri at only 32 years old and it has not been pleasant. I truly feel some days like an old woman trapped in a young person’s body
I have not found that diet or exercise has made any difference at all with the symptoms. That being said, I did discover that I have been chronically dehydrated for many years (to the point of not feeling thirst anymore), so increasing my fluid intake to recommended amounts has considerably lessened my pain and improved my overall health
If your hormones are abnormal due to genetics or failing thyroid, beyond normal menopause, diet can only do so much. I started bio-identical hormone treatment about 2 years ago, and feel like it has truly saved my life!
I'm not pushing BHRT, but if you feel like "the change" is really having a long term negative effect on the quality of your life, then you really need to talk to your doctor, and may want to consider it. ... on the positive side of that, I am now feeling MUCH better and making up for lost time! Eating healthy is not just for menopause; it is for life
