Breakfast is my hardest I have been eating egg whites (the ones that u can buy in the little containers - ALOT easier Smile ) and a couple slices of turkey bacon (I eat the Jennie-O ones but since they are precooked and u just need to cook for a few mins to make a little crispy they are easy) and sometimes i eat a slice or the serving of those bagel or sandwich thins with spray on butter. I like it and it fills me up for hours.

I like to do meal replacement shakes for breakfast since I hate eating in the morning time. I went to GNC and got these awesome Lean Shakes that taste surprisingly wonderful.

Hello! Welcome and congrats! Smile

Breakfast has become one of my favorite meals of the day since I started eating healthy! I have a goal of 300 calories and 20 grams of protein for each breakfast (part of my daily guidelines from my nutritionist). In the summer I liked to have light, less dense breakfasts that involve fruit and usually dairy as my protein source.

Last week I was all about the "Quaker Oatmeal Instant Weight Loss" packets, which contain 160 calories and 7 grams of protein (and 6 grams of fiber?). I added warm milk to these, as well as measured portions of fruits like strawberries, blueberries, or cherries. I also added 9 grams of walnuts.

This week I'm in love with Greek Yogurt. I take 1 Chobani nonfat vanilla (120 calories and 16 grams of protein; nonfat plain is even better: 100 calories and 18 grams). To this I add 3 to 4 packets of Splenda (big sweet tooth), my fruit portions, as well as the walnuts and 2 chopped up squares of dark chocolate. 327 calories and 20 grams of protein!

Soooo yummy, the greek yogurt with the Splenda looks and tastes like a rich, creamy ice cream that doesn't even melt at room temperature. Today I used an idea from the website and melted the chocolate first, and then mixed it in. It was like having a very light chocolate ice cream with fruit and nuts for breakfast. But it was healthy, with no need to feel guilty about it!

As you can see, the possibilities, even just for breakfast, are endless, fascinating, and delicious. Smile

eat whatever you want or normally do. just do so in the portions that allow you to achieve adequate micronutrients, satiety and energy while remaining in a calorie deficit.
no food is better or worse than another for losing weight.
caloric balance governs weightloss, not whether or not you eat what someone has labeled it as healthy.

there is nothing wrong with eating the york or the yolk for all that matters.
why would you think there would be a problem with eating it?

I am new here also and have most of my food knowledge from doing the South Beach Diet several times during the past 5 years. Now that I know how to eat I just have to learn portion sizes. So far I'm doing great on that because the whole grains and high fiber foods fill you up good even in small portions. I remember a recipe I used to make using the carton of egg yolk and frozen spinach bag and sprinkled cheese. You mix the 3 in a bowl and pour them into muffin pan and bake in the oven for about 20 mins? It could be less, you will see when the egg is done and they are nice little snacks to keep in the fridge for either breakfast or a quick snack.
