Hello FatSecret,
My name is Michael, I'm a 19 college student and have been overweight just about my entire life.
I really didn't care about my weight or my health, considering I also suffer from depression.
After finally struggling with my depression for long enough, and finally finding ways to fight it and keep it away from me, I feel like it's finally time to tackle something else that has been bothering me.
My weight.
I'm currently close to 300 pounds and I'm scared of putting on another pair of jeans or shorts and having them not fit, and go into some sort of psycho mental breakdown because of how fast I'm going through clothes.
I became a little curious about calorie counters and stumbled upon FatSecrets free calorie counter for Android phones, and thatl ed me to the forums.
Now it's 1:55 AM, and I've decided that it's finally time to start shedding off this unnecessary mass that's just not allowing me to look as good as I want to look.
Sorry for the long post, to anyone that considered reading it, but it kinda just vented out of me.
It's time to start kicking my weight's ass, and it's about time I start doing it right.

Michael, your in the right place for your mission, and you've found the determination to do it. Losing weight very well help you getting out of your depression. It doesn't have to be difficult losing weight. Find a system that you can live with day after day - for me it was calorie counting - and dedicate to it. Drink plenty of water and move a little extra when you can, and you're well on your way. Also, being alive on this website helps you to stay focused and dedicated, so use it. If you're looking for buddies, feel free to add me.

Yeah, I'm pretty bored on the internet just now, always looking for up and coming artists and etc.
The name isn't music-related, originally I wanted the name 'Dominus' [Dominator in Latin]. It was taken at just about every website so I just added the extra 'o' and it sorta stuck (This was back in like, 9th grade High School).

Well good luck buddy, it's definitely within your power to make it happen. I'm of the opinion that what one man can do, so can another. It's all about how willing you are to do it. I started in my 250's so I'm not far from where you started. It'll be difficult at first, but you'll adapt. Use the app, make sure you get enough protein, cardio is good but resistance training is better. I'm not even talking about lifting weights just yet, but body weight exercises with a little cardio won't kill you.
Lao-tzu said it best, "the longest journey starts with a single step." Your rant tonight is that step... let's see what you can do.

Hey Rooster, and thanks!
Yeah. I started a membership at a gym that offers MMA training, it's killer! But I love every minute of it. I'm pretty crazy for martial arts, I believe what I really have to do is cutting back on my portions and learning how to eat fruits and veggies.
It sounds embarrassing but every time my tongue tastes fruits or vegetables, I gag immediately and spit it out. Not cool.

Wow, I haven't realized so many have replied to this topic.
Thank all of you for the support, logging my food has tremendously helped in me keeping my mouth shut when I need to. [I immediately stopped eating so much and so frequently once I started to look at what I've eaten for the day.]
Again, thank all of you for the support and I hope to watch you guys reach your weight goals as I reach mine!
