how do you get rid of sodium from your body?

i asked the PA before they gave it to me and he said it will not cause you to gain weight, well it did a whole 8 lbs! i HAVE to lose 10 lbs in a week in order for the surgeon to do the surgery for me and i now only have 2 days left! i need to know how to pull all that sodium out of my body asap
any thoughts?

Your weight gain has nothing to do with sodium, and everything to do with the fact that you were dehydrated. Dehydration means there wasn't enough water in your body. You now have enough water in your body, and guess what? That water has weight. If you try to lose that much weight, you'll end up dehydrated again.

One liter of water weighs one kilogram, or around 2.2 pounds.

Talk to your physician about this, not to us.

Since manipulating your water weight is unrelated to your body fat levels anyway, this seems pointlessly hazardous.

Um, haven't you learned your lesson? What you are doing is unhealthy - thus the need for medical attention and an IV! I'm not sure why 10 lbs would make that big of a difference for surgery. But I can tell you one thing, you do not want to go into surgery in a compromised state - dehydrated or undernourished. That will put you at greater risk for infection and a longer recovery. Please be careful and if you are concerned, then you need to call the doctor.
