I am really trying to be serious and really keep the weight off this time.
Would love to find a group of people who can post and keep each other motivated.
I have about 50 pounds to lose and like everyone I would like it to be gone by tomorrow but I know that won't happen.
I am a 45 year old, married woman, two kids in college, and work more than full time. If I have some support, sometimes online is best because I can be honest about my weight. Hard to do with skinny friends and family.
Anyone looking for the same type of support?

" I went outside to find a friend, but there were no friends there. I went outside to BE a friend, and friends were everywhere."
For me personally, I have found that just putting yourself out there on this site is the best way to buddy up. I didn't have many buddies at first, but I figured instead of waiting for people to find me, I would find them!
You can start by reading people's journals and profiles. Try to find members with similar goals or struggles. I randomly began leaving words of encouragement and congratulations here and there. What also worked for me was becoming more active in forum discussions. Becoming more involved in the community is a great way to show other members just how serious you are in chasing and obtaining your health goals.
I can only speak for myself, but I try to find buddies whose actions speak louder than their words. FS is full of members who randomly come and go (and I have been one of them!) But persistance pays off. I have a great group of buddies that I've collected and cultivated, each at various stages of their goals. One thing in common with my buddies is that they are all serious about health and change.
For the most part, I sought them out. And a few members, once they realized I am sticking around here and serious about my goals, sought me out.
Hope this doesn't come off harsh or cold. That's not what I am trying to say. Weightloss is hard enough, and doing it alone is even harder. But I find that just being a buddy is the best way to get some buddies, if that makes sense.
Best of luck to you, and I will send you a request!

I can add, that I look for folks that are real and are not hiding. So like Millalite said, put yourself out there. Add pics, story, goals, etc to your profile. (I normally don't read a post unless there is a pic of the person, in this age of computer bots a real face goes a long way.) I have only been here about 4 months, but I agree there are a ton of folks come and go like the wind. I to try to search out those that have the same goals or are winning at their journey. It is not harsh, just the truth if you want to be successful. BTW, be prepared for the truth it is part of the journey

I've been through the journey, and I am still learning something new every day. I write a journal every day to keep myself in the game. Feel free to add me as a buddy, should you like.
