I have been tracking calories for over a year, I have lost 26 lbs and am in the best shape of my life; I am even below my high school weight in which I played sports during every season and watched my diet then. I lost the weight beginning in January 2011 by starting to count my calories and began training for the Board Street Run in Philly, PA in May 2011. I finished the race below what I expected and was so proud of my accomplishments. But now, almost a year later, I have lost another 10 lbs since then and am always looking for a new challenge, so when my family announced that they wanted to start a 10,000 steps a day challenge, I thought, how hard can that really be??? I am a fitness instructor at the gym, I run, walk the dogs, and workout every day on top of working 50 hours a week for my career, so how hard can walking 10,000 steps a day really be? Today I threw on my pedometer at the point I woke up (I am mad it's not water proof or I would have worn it in the shower too) and I am going to experience this challenge first hand. Over the next month, I will be posting my progress, frustrations and anything else to just find out the answer to my question, how hard is it to walk 10,000 steps a day? It's May 1, if you want to join in, jump on the train and let me know your progress and little tricks to get more steps in a day. Check back for my progress, daily I will log the number of steps I walk. Thanks in advance for your support.

It is not too hard if you keep your pedometer on you all day long. I love walking so for me it is preferred activity anyway. However I found it hard to find a pedometer that would not cost a fortune and stay on me for entire day. I would usually end up accidentally dropping it on the floor in the bathroom or while changing clothes, and it would not work properly after that. Or if I really fasten it tight it would stop counting steps at all. Broke probably ten of them and stopped trying. I find it very motivating when I wear it, so please share your experience if you find a model that is not that sensitive, and still works.

Sodium/Salt intake HOW MUCH
People doing LCHF need to add salt, others maybe less. The low carb WOE depletes your electrolytes, so you need to keep a habit of consuming them.
