I noticed that the carbs in foods entered are not the NET CARBS. I had a Atkins Advantage Bar and it calculated it as 22 carbs, but Atkins diet subtracts fiber, so it really only has 2 carbs. Am I doing something wrong?

I subtract sugar alcohols from total carbs and I put the new number in total carbs field. Then, of course, you have your fiber, and net carbs. I have seen a few Atkins products, with the explanation, that the sugar alcohols were combined with fiber, but that will give you a false high fiber number. So what I do, I subtract sugar alcohols from total carb count. There is no field for sugar alcohols, when you add a product, so even if you put them in "other carbs" field, it will calculate the net carbs too high.

On the other hand, I have read on Atkins website, in the forums, that many people find, they must stay under 50 g TOTAL carbs, that includes net carbs, fiber, AND sugar alcohols. So, you might want to add sugar alcohols to your fiber after all, just to keep track of ALL the carbs you are eating.

Go to your food diary page. Look for the link for "edit preferences" at the top of the page just under "total calories." Click the link and set your preferneces to show Net Carbs. (But keep in mind your pie chart graphic will still be calculated according to gross carbs.)

This is tough......I,m spending 90% of my time trying to stay on meal plan and the other 10% going off it.....Resulting in an increase in weight..
