What is it about those food cravings that sneak up and pick at you untill you losse your mind? Im having a serious problem with a craving problem, the trouble is I dont know what my body needs or what i want to put in my mouth.
I end up eatting lemons with salt untill i have sores in my mouth, or eat a pan of brownies when im not hungry. Always in the evening too.
Im on a good vitamin supplement, so what is the DEAL?
Anyway, if anyone read this, do you have this problem? What do you do about it?
Thank you for your time

Cravings are emotional/mental. You need to learn how to just ignore them until you can determine what you're actually craving and can come with an acceptable solution for satiating it.

Read this article, it's pretty good!!

Train your brain to crave healthy foods

We are creatures of habit and it takes a couple weeks for new habits to form, so stick with it!!

I don't think you are busy enough. That's why in the evenings you are eating because you are bored. I agree that we form habits and they cause our body to ask for things because its on auto pilot. I would suggest taking a walk when you feel yourself getting a craving.

I agree with erika2633. I also have an extremely bad issue with eating at night but i have found that if i eat little heavier in the day that craving to eat at night goes away. Or i make sure a crap ton of water. Or i will actually let myself to indulge a BIT on whatever it is. Savor it and put it away. Also i have been going to bed earlier and that has helped a ton.

One of the main reasons people eat heavy at night or snack is because they are bored, or are sitting around. Also remember a calorie is a calorie whether you eat it at 9am or 9pm they are not going to make you any heavier. The key is to expending those calories.

Do our bodies process calories differently after dark? Will you pack on the pounds in the form of fat if you eat at night?

There is a misconception that it's not the number of calories we eat, but when we eat them that makes us fat. However, just the opposite is true. Our bodies need a certain number of calories, and it doesn't matter when they receive them or whether the calories come in the form of food or beverages.

Weight loss will always come from eating fewer calories than your body burns throughout the day -- and night. But there are some problems that can arise from eating late at night, and they can lead to excess calories and weight gain.

Starving yourself all-day and gorging at night can lead to weight gain. By skipping meals or going longer than four to five hours without eating, you set yourself up to overeat when you finally do eat. So plan your day with three meals and at least one or two snacks.

When eating at night, people tend to dive into chips, cookies, ice cream, chocolate and other high calorie foods and beverages. The result is likely to be an excess of calories that leads to weight gain. Instead, choose fruits, vegetables, and other low-calorie foods for your nighttime snacks.
