Okay, I am not ALWAYS hungry but like every hr and a half to 2 hrs I want to eat again. My biggest problem is eating when I am bored or stressed. When I was on medication for ADD, I started at 140 lbs. and got down to 115 in a couple of months because the medication suppressed my appetite. It is tempting to start taking it again, but I wouldn't want to be 115 as that is way too thin for my height (5'6"Wink Are you always hungry? And if so, any advice to curb appetite?

Try reading the book "Wheat Belly". The author suggests that wheat is the reason that many people are hungry on a two hour cycle.

Eat more veggies -- learn to love them and you can pretty much eat them whenever you want (besides potatoes). Have a large spinach salad with lunch and then eat your normal meal - you should be full from that!

But when I'm on the computer and are talking to people. unlike some people who mindlessly eat, I do the opposite. I eat very slowly. And I mean slow. lolz If you feel hungry and just ate, call a friend... Smile

If you're eating because you're bored or stressed, get a hobby, or get up and exercise. I do both. I crochet because it relaxes me and gets my mind off of eating or whatever is stressing me out. I recently started walking for the exercise and it also helps a lot. Not only is it helping with the inches, it also gets me out of the house and outdoors and busy. After my walk, sure I'm beat, but I feel great! Stress is gone and energy level is way up.

I also snack when I'm bored and the best thing for me has been to just pop in a stick of gum when I get that urge that just chew on something. I hope that helps. Smile

I had this problem, but I read the Carb Addict's Diet and that really explained it for me... I'm definitely a carb addict... Has to do with insulin and carbs and our body's response. New Atkins for a New You also has some answers for this problem.

Basically, he states that the grumbling in the stomach is not true hunger and that only occurs when you have discomfort in your throat and mouth - he says that most Americans do not ever feel true hunger. It's an interesting book - lots of research in it and basically he discusses following a vegetarian diet and limiting animal products. Not sure if I will end up going that route, but I have increased my intake of vegetables greatly and I get stuffed!! A large salad with lunch and dinner before you eat your meal will really fill you up. I suggest anyone who feels hungry all the time, to try adding a salad or 2 extra veggies per meal.

I love salad, but it goes bad so quickly. I buy it like once a month now cuz I was tired of it going bad. I do need to add more veggies to my diet. I think I am def. a "carb addict" lol. Both of those books sound worth checking out. I don't read books ever; I read the internet lol! But I bet those books would be good since it is something I am interested in.

I find that when I eat better I'm not wanting to snack so much. For one, I know that if I do want a snack it's not going to be some mouthwatering, sugary thing, so it's not as tempting. For another, I don't want to go way over my calories on an indulgence I don't need. Also, I'll try to keep myself busy, fold laundry, clean something, log food on here, whatever just to keep myself away from food that I don't need. It doesn't always work, but I can try. Good luck, this is tough!!

I did low carb for a year and then fasted to get off and am now following a moderate carb low cal low fat low sodium diet. I get hungry a lit too and I drink hot beverages such as tea or decaf coffee to ease the pains. This works well and keeps me until it is time for the next meal or snack. Exercise also curbs hunger. You could also try very low cal snacks like air popped popcorn and sugar free Jello.

(except for last night Saturday is my cheat night it was 2600 cal) I have been losing weight all along with very little exersize. I will be joining a gym next week and hopefully i will lose even faster. I dont think it is how much you eat it is what you eat. I have been blown away at how much good low calorie food is out there if you just look. I drink a lot more water, if i want soda i drink a pepsi max or coca cola zero. I went from my 200 cal per bottle beer to Budweiser select 55 cal beer. I eat atleast ten times a day now. I just cut out the burritos, burgers and other garbage.

This may sound a bit weird, but I find that brushing my teeth does it for me. Anytime that I feel a bit hungry between meals I just have to brush my teeth, it takes my mind off of it and its so refreshing!!!
If you have the right mindset then nothing can stop you from reaching your goals! Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels!

Water and patience. It takes me a while to get used to not eating as often, but between breaking bad habits and your belly shrinking the longer you do it the easier it gets.
