Foods I no longer miss

Since starting on FS last year, my eating habits have changed dramatically. Keeping a food diary has helped me to realise that I ate way to much. I also found out that a high carb diet made me crave sweets. I now eat a moderate carb diet with fresh and homecooked food.
Here are some foods that I used to eat on a daily basis, I still have them but only once a week or so:

1. Bread
2. Potatoes or pasta
3. Dessert after every meal
4. Icecream
5. Orange juice
6. Coffee

I really really wish I could say chocolate but I can't. I love you, chocolate! But it's not a happy relationship, it's based on addiction.

What foods did you think you couldn't live without?

For me its pasta. I have managed to go from eating a salad bowl full several tiems a week to having only two cups once a week.

I agree with your list, except for the coffee. That one is a keeper for me Wink I would add:

pies
brownies
sodas
chips
french toast...and that is only some of the things I can think of off the top of my head. I'm sure there are many more.

No kidding....love my coffee! I haven't really cut out any of these items, I've mostly cut frequency and portion size.

I have cut Muffins and scones- with the exceptions of the ones I make myself and an occasional vanilla mini-scone, I don't buy eat them anymore and I really don't miss them. I let myself have a scone on my birthday and it made me a bit sick!

Also, fast food (except pizza)- I sometimes crave a burger and fries but they're just never worth the calories trade-offs I'd have to make.

M.Trublu, I make french toast all the time! It's a weekend staple for me. I buy bread that's only 45-50 cals a slice to use and usually have a piece with light butter and powdered sugar and another with light syrup.

I agree with you on chips!

Im with Gnat. I havent really "given" anything up so to speak. I do find somethings I dont enjoy any more and many of the things I use to eat Ive found healthier alternatives. Otherwise every once in a while I crave that burger and if its one of my days I dont have many calories to speak of used I will have one. Not so much the fries. I can usually talk myself out of those. I would like to find a healthier scone. Ive chosen not to eat them but sometimes still miss them. I bet this site has a recipe Smile

Skittles. I used to be addicted
Chocolate. Have come up with Atkins-friendly alternatives to sugar-laden bars, like chocolate mousse.
Starbucks Caramel Macchiatos. Have discovered I actually like the taste of real coffee...with cream.

I'm sorry to say that I still really miss On the Border's Tortilla Soup.

Things I rarely eat anymore
Most fast food
Chips, I was a Doritos FREAK
Pasta - never much cared for it anyway
Lil' Debbie / Hostess snacks - COSMIC BROWNIES! I used to eat 3 of them at a time, I think it's 380cals per serving. Holy cow!
Cookie dough - yep, straight out of the tube
Cappuccino
Pizzas, entire ones by myself
Mexican food - giant burritos!
