Monthly cycle effecting weight loss??

Hi im unsure if this is in the right place.... im new to this so here goes..
i had a baby ten weeks ago and since 3rd jan have worked out watched what i have eaten etc. Only yesterday and today i seem to have gained 4lbs!?!?! how what the?!?! Ive roughly worked out im due my cycle but since its early days after baby it could come when it wants? does anyone know if water retention during/before the monthly cycle adds lbs? Im completely devistated that ive sweated and worked so hard only for a gain Sad

I always seem to have "gained" 3-4 pounds a day or two at the start of my period. I look at it like a motivator to stay on track and then it's like a magical gift a few days later when the scale seems to drop 3-4 overnight. Don't sweat it. Keep at it and you will see results.

thanks guys well my period never showed but stepped on the scales this morning and had a loss of 4lb's so must have been water lol

Mix feelings
You fell off the wagon, don't beat yourself up. Just get back on track, go for a walk. Plan your meals, maybe work on a backup plan for your next social event so you'll do better. Soldier on!

advice needed
Make your way of eating and your exercise part of your life, not a diet that will run it's course. Sounds easy but it does take commitment and effort.
