Depends. I've always heard your body can go into starvation mode and cause you to gain weight if you don't eat enough, but you probably have to do it often for that to happen.

Yes. Check out Diet For A Small Planet (Frances Lappe). She teaches how to combine non-meat sources to make complete protein. Very healthy
