I have a lot of friends that had high blood pressure (you will notice I said had) and used Atkins to lose weight AND get off their BP and Type II diabetes medicines.

"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. "

I think that the best way to lose weight is to get your portions down, balance your carbs and protein, and keep fats under 10g per meal. If you are doing all that and weight isn't going down, cut back on the portions, but maintain frequent small meals.

I don't see why not really. The only thing is that the meds might lower your metabolism slightly but that shouldn't have much affect. - Some things that have really helped me.
