Do you ever feel like your mind is going in the right direction with inspiration, focus and determination; but your BODY doesn't allow you to follow through because of the extra weight?

I have felt that way. Finding a method that works is hard. Finding a method that works and is sustainable hasn't actually happened for me, yet. Maybe this time, though.

DISCLAIMER: I expect to lose this weight over the next 6 months to 5 years. I'm not going to feel like a failure if it takes an entire month to lose 1 pound. I'm going to feel like a success when that happens! I may offer advice that I'm currently not taking myself. Feel free to call me on that!

I'm kinda disappointed with myself about the lack of follow through on some of my self-designed projects; despite the fact that completion feels GREAT. I'm making some drastic changes in 2012. I've gotta do it for me. I spent the last 40 years living for everyone else.

I'm with you Lisa. 2012 is a year of change for me. Physical health, mental health, overall happiness...this is the year for me!

Also, you may find that following through on projects may not be a function of weight. Try crafting a realistic plan before you start. Include design details, timing (when to do what), milestones, completion date, etc. I do this with any major project but skip it for small stuff like planting trees, etc. You may also find that the excitement a new project gives you goes away after thoughtful planning so you may never begin in the first place (which is OK). But, after planning and you still want to do the project, you'll find you will complete the job! Good luck!

I understand the disappointment. If I could have just stuck with something that was working for as long as I've been hanging around fatsecret, I would be a lot closer to the end than the beginning.

This is just not easy, especially at my age. I have finally decided that it is a medical problem and needs a medical solution. I've started seeing a doctor and nutrionist. I hope that helps.

Do you like cottage cheese or does it make you cringe?
It depends. I can't stand eating it with fruit or anything sweet, like most people do.

COCONUT WATER
I love coconut water & prefer Harmless Harvest raw coconut water. It's more expensive, but worth it, I think. I get it at Whole Foods or a local health food store.
