If you use the tools and the buddy system on FatSecret it can help you exceed your expectations. The best thing is, even if you hit a plateau, which we all do at times, you're not as likely to backslide with all of your buddies rooting for you. Welcome aboard.

I think you'll like it here. I was never able to lose weight before, and now I've lost 55 lbs, and still going. Most people here will encourage you to lose in a moderate and healthy way, which is the best approach. We're all on this journey together, so you'll get a lot of support.
You'll see people following a lot of different diets here, and many of them are very effective, especially when coupled with calorie counting. Whether it's low fat, low carb, South Beach, Mediterranean... whatever works for you is the best diet for you.

Welcome aboard. I'm glad to see you already found the forum. There's so much good info to be found here (and a lot of fun and craziness hidden between the lines!).
Feel free to add me as a buddy. Buddies are great for support and inspiration.

Welcome! I'm glad your co worker had you check out this site. It's a wonderful site with lots of tools for your everyday use and lots of supportive people. Thanks to the people I have met and some of my friends outside of FatSecret, I have managed to stay on track longer than I have ever been able to before.

I just joined too, and so far I love it. Buddies help a lot (feel free to add me) and keeping a log of what you eat definitely helps! Keep a journal too, it helps for venting when you're frustrated!

Good luck LJApril. You have come to the right place.
If at first I seem a little weird, then it's pretty likely I am.

Yeah I'm definitely working towards my goal. It's taken me a couple years to finally have such a good start a couple months ago. It can be done!
