Hi, I started dieting again 10-24-11. I am 171 and am trying to get to 128. This time, I am logging everything I eat, which is making me more accountable. My motivation is to lower my BP meds. Even when my weight was normal I took meds. With the increased weight I have had to increase the meds. I don't like the side effects of the new med and would like to get off of it. I realize the only way to do this is to get my weight back under control and excersise more. It really helps to come to the FS site and see others success's to stay motivated. Good luck! I'm also trying to get down to about 130 from the 170s but I found it's easier to set smaller goals at a time. so my first goal is 150. that way I don't get discouraged that it's so far away.

I was at 187. My long term goal is 149. I look for challenges on here that I can do that are healthy weight loss challenges to help with the small goals. I started Aug 15 and the challenge was to lose 20 pounds by Halloween. Another one corresponded "Lose 30 by Xmas" so I joined that one too! I am at 171.5 and soon to to back in the 160's for the first time in 3 years. Remember...slow and steady wins te race. Go slow and make small lifestyle changes so you can maintain the weight loss. Good Idea AJM0501. When I think of losing 40+lbs, it does seem huge. So my first goal is to be 160 by Christmas!

I just left the 170s with a goal of getting into the 120s. My short term goal is also 160 by Christmas.

Probably lowering your calories by at least 500 a day and eating clean is your best bet.

sticking to a plan
I think and am living this. You need to a WOR plan that fits your life and exercise that also fits your life. If it doesn't fit your life you won't stick with it.
