Hi, I started dieting again 10-24-11. I am 171 and am trying to get to 128. This time, I am logging everything I eat, which is making me more accountable. My motivation is to lower my BP meds. Even when my weight was normal I took meds. With the increased weight I have had to increase the meds. I don't like the side effects of the new med and would like to get off of it. I realize the only way to do this is to get my weight back under control and excersise more. It really helps to come to the FS site and see others success's to stay motivated. Good luck! I'm also trying to get down to about 130 from the 170s but I found it's easier to set smaller goals at a time. so my first goal is 150. that way I don't get discouraged that it's so far away.

I started Aug 15 and the challenge was to lose 20 pounds by Halloween. Another one corresponded "Lose 30 by Xmas" so I joined that one too! I am at 171.5 and soon to to back in the 160's for the first time in 3 years. Remember...slow and steady wins te race. Go slow and make small lifestyle changes so you can maintain the weight loss. Yep, I'm with you there. When I don't see the numbers I somehow can kid myself into thinking that the junk food I just ate wasn't as bad as it actually was. Honesty is the best policy. :)

When I cook at home, I create a recipe that I add to my cookbook, that way I can get an accurate calorie count, and also duplicate at a later date.
