i think you will be okay, because you will consciously not over indulge in the tempting foods, believe it or not your is in the training process.
but if you fall off the wagon, as my friend says, don't stay on the ground, get back up and hold on tight.

the tendency on a cruise is to want to have a bit of everything as you feel you are missing out on something - especially with the way they have it all laid out and presented.
Last time I was on a cruise I told myself I would stick to salads - but have way through the salad I noticed guacamole was available and soon moved on to steaks etc - I'd say best advice is to take modest portions and not be one of those people walking around with plate "piled high"

Expect your going to gain some weight on your cruise. You can deal with some extra exercise when you get home to get yourself back on track.

Don't cruise ships generally have some pretty good workout facilities? Nice gyms and multiple swimming pools? Don't forget the exercise component, even as you're relaxing and enjoying yourself. That'll give you more of an allowance for all the tasty food available.

I would suggest trying to eat more vegetables and proteins. I'm not usually on the low carb band wagon, but in this situation that is what I would do. Skip the breads, cereals, danishes... Those are the highest calorie dishes. The next thing I would do, is make sure you have plenty of water - carry a water bottle. The third thing I would do is stay on your feet. Don't just lay by the pool - get in. Choose activities that will make you burn a little bit of calories as opposed to just sitting around. Fourthly, I would have fun and not stress. Try new things but don't over do it. And finally, when you get home - get back in gear immediately. That is usually my hardest challenge - resuming diet and exercise after taking a week off. There is always lots to do when you get home, but you must focus!!! Enjoy your cruise.

Realistically you won't have health food or non-fat options. Simply choose the healthiest, lowest fat option of food.
Watch your portions! If it's anything like the cruise we went on there's food being served in some form or other every 2 hours!
Have fun! It's a cruise and you're going to regret not having the odd indulgence - but don't have them all!
The ship may have a gym. Use it.

The weight outcome of the cruise I went on? I neither gained weight or dropped weight and had a fabulous time!

Have fun, and if you overindulge at one meal, try and get back on track when its time for the next, and if not enjoy and take care of it when you get back. Remember this is a lifelong journey not a quick fix.
