I thought I did really well the first two weeks and now nothing. How can a person be on such low carbs and have a stall?

It's pretty common for weight loss to slow after the first couple of weeks. Are you doing Atkins? Don't give up, check your measurements, the body needs time to adjust and sometimes you'll lose inches before the scale shows a difference.

If you're still in induction, nuts, carrots and cottage cheese are not allowed. Make sure you're getting 12-15 net carbs from your foundation veggies and try to stay as close as possible to 20 net carbs total for the day.

Oh dear, I just looked at your food journal from today. You're definitely not supposed to have those nuts and cottage cheese on induction and you ate french fries?

Are you on induction or OWL?

My personal recommendation...don't eat french fries...and go strictly on induction, no cottage cheese, no nuts, no carrots...like jowe65 said, 12-15 net carbs coming from veggies, less than 20 carbs per day and you'll see that scale drop. I know the restrictiveness of induction isn't pleasant for most, but it really worksSmile

Atkins is different, you can overcome this stall. Plus, remember that sometimes the scale doesn't move, but the inches disappear so take measurements and see if you notice your clothes fitting better or if they're getting loose on you.

Well, don't let it get you down, you can do this. Since you're on OWL, maybe keep the nuts and lose the cottage cheese for now, see if you lose, and no french fries! lol

If you don't lose anything in the next week, maybe you need to give up the nuts and try adding more veggies. Some folks just can't tolerate the nuts and it can keep them from losing weight. Everybody that does OWL goes through this, you just have to figure out what works for you. It takes some trial and error, but it's not a losing battle.

If you were losing fine in Induction but have started to gain on OWL, then you need to look at the foods you first added and scale them back.

To begin, you may want to consider dropping all varieties of nuts and, instead, add 5NC of additional foundation veggies, moving from the 20NC of Induction to 25NC of OWL.

And, of course, you know the other foods of the last couple days you don't want to repeat! <VBG>

Good luck!

Also could it be hormones. I had a stall and figured out it was my time of the month. After that passed I dropped weight again and fast.

Don't look like you followed the rules for OWL much. You need to start OWL by making sure you eat all your veggies. Veggies are your foundation carbs - looks like you had oatmeal and stuff - that is not somehting you should eat till you get very close to the end if at all.
Check the Atkins book for the rules. I followed the 2002 book an for those rule you start OWL with 5 more net carbs of veggies and you stay there for a week.

LOL no I did not have oatmeal but I did have an oatmeal cream pie. It was after the stall that I wained, in addition to the fact that my actual starting weight is 10 heavier then I orginally thought due to a difference in scales. My start weight (before i got on FS) was 182, but the traditional scale (as opposed to the ditgal scale) said 172, so I thought I was down to 162 when really i am down to 172! Ugh I guess I just kinda have to start over. I hope you can understand my post regrading the whole stupid scales! I know everyone says go by the measurements but the scale does count too.

Yeh, that thing with the scales sounds frustrating, but any way you look at it, you still lost 10 lbs and that's great!

Today's a new day, like you said, yesterday's done. What matters is that you don't give up and keep trying! You're going to beat this stallSmile
