I am so craving a quarterpounder or a double cheeseburge from Mcdonalds....I'm hoping that posting it will make me more accountable and I wont get one.

A burger can be a perfectly nutritious food, but I wouldn't recommend McDonald's per se....why not make one at home with fresh veggies (on the side or as toppings) and a whole grain bun? Or try a local restaurant that you trust (or can make you a burger to order) where you won't get quite the nasty stuff that McDonald's will add to theirs?
In the worst case scenario...a Whopper Jr is not a massive calorie hit. Don't let the drive for a perfect diet make you crazy - that's likely to backfire in the end. You can satisfy the craving in a healthier way, that you'll feel a lot better about afterwards

Why don't you make your own burgers on the grill tonight? Or have a veggie burger? That could cut your cravings and save you a lot of calories / stomach pains. You could also be craving iron - so maybe some lean steak or roast beef will cut the cravings back as well.

We had steaks last night, I dont think the iron is low I eat spinach alot and tons of meat....i think its just I havent had one in like a month....and I use to get a mcdonalds burger for lunch once or twice a weekend. Lucky for me I dont pass one on my way to or from work. I was also thinking about a Taco Salad from the Mexican restaurant but not sure how many calories that would have. I dont like the shell.....maybe I could just gt a veggie sub from subway and a small order of fries or something. Sushi is always good....or maybe I should just let myself get a double cheesburger to satisfy my craving. I've been having this craving for a few days and so far I have dont a great job of not giving in. I feel like posting it makes me more accountable.

I'm thinking i can get my mcdonalds and still stay under my calories for the day....Im worried that if i dont satisfy my craving I'll eat way too much mcdonalds when i finally do satisfy it.

i know i shouldnt do it.......i guess i will stick with subway....i feel like eating ground beef. I was wondering how many calories are in a taco salad from a mexican restuarant without the shell.

If you have a small regular hamburger from McDonalds it will do a lot less damage than a taco salad. I think a small cheeseburger is around 350, and taco salad can be near 1000 because of all the sour cream, guacamole and cheese.

I dont get it with guacamole, and I dont eat the shell....I think i will just get the taco salad since I know i wont be able to resist fries at mcdonalds and I'm craving a quarter pounder that has like 550 calories or something crazy like that. Atleat the taco salad is made with fresh ingredients and is more filling. I'm also going to estimate it for more calories than the calorie count says it is.

The hardest part for me is staying away from the fries! If I go into a McDonalds, chances are I'll walk out with some in addition to whatever else I went in for, so its best for me to just stay away and make my own burger at home. Hope this post works for accountability, allieaac!

I've cut fast food completley out of my diet and I don't miss it. Watch Supersize Me, you'll never eat it again. I don't know what that link is for, but I am sure it is something gross about McDonald's processing and things. I read the grossest thing about how they make McRibs omg google that and you'll never eat there again!!!!

Be careful! I know for me after not eating fast food for a very long time and for some reason I do eat it....I get sick and it's so not worth it. All of the nasty fillers, fat, oil and other crazy preservatives don't work in my body anymore. So just keep in mind besides satisfying a craving there may be better choices....or make sure you're close to a bathroom! LOL!

Allie, I finally decided on a taco salad. One here it says a beef taco salad has 380 calories, I recorded it as 2 serviings incase my salad had more but most likely it is about at 380 since i dont eat the shell or guacamole. It satisfied my mcdonalds craving. Its probably way better for me since its not as processed, has protein in the beans and beef, and veggies and dairy in the cheese (the place i go does a little bit of shredded cheese instead of putting alot of melted cheese sauce on it) I put in my calories for what I plan on eating for dinner and I am still under my calorie count for the day with some calories to spare!

I have sen super size me and the 5 year old burger and it didnt really gross me out like it should have. I read something about the pink goo that use to make the chicken nuggets and that turned me off to them!i figure the only think i will get a mcdonalds from now on is the occasional mcflurry or ice cream cone and diet coke. lol
Burger king is a different story but atleast they have veggie burgers.

What turned me off fast food and meat in general was reading the book Skinny Bitch. I was only an occasional chicken eater to begin with and now I don’t miss meat at all. I wouldn’t say I’m a vegetarian as I love my fish, but I have no desire to eat meat or fast food at all. I do crave veggie burgers like no tomorrow though and by the time you add on all the toppings, it tastes amazing and doesn’t make me miss beef at all and thinking about all that grease and fat – yuuuuck! Plus after not eating fast food for so long and then eating it once, it has literally made me sick so I just don’t bother with it anymore.

One way to get a burger without giving in for fries as well - ask a friend to buy it for you and deliver

Luckily, McD in Denmark is so gross that it is not ever a temptation.
