Hi,
I'm here again,,, hoping to lose the 45 lbs or more this time. Doing Atkins since May 15 lost about six lbs so far but I'm starting to get bored with eating the same foods everyday... eggs for breakfast especially.
I'm looking for a buddy to share recipes , chat about the daily motivators and help each other with the support needed to stay away from weight-gainers , CARBS!

Would love you chat with you soon!

Hello Lemonpi congrats on your 6 lbs!!! im kind of on the same boat about the foods. What were your breakfasts before? try doing your same brkfst but change them a little and make them low carb. In my case for example i would have ham and eggs plus a tortilla or two or three...ok ok... and beans (im hispanic lol)so now i take away the tortilla and beans and have my ham and eggs, or eggs with something else, but it just depends on what u used to have before. For lunch if I used to just go get tacos I can still do the same minus the tortilla, so far I've been doing good. Started May 23rd and have lost 15 lbs so far. will start my third week tomorrow and staying in induction.

Anywho, hope it helps a little?? Good luck and keep it up!!!

Hi mless26,
Thanks for the support and buddy request I just sent to you. Very Happy
Eating eggs every morning is making that meal starting to become boring. Today I added bacon to it and ended up eating half of it. Which is good thing but I'm looking now for other alternative breakfast recipes to expand the variety. But I really enjoy the Atkins diet because it is a quick and steady weight loss and is the best way to eat for me for my blood type is O. This is what I like about Atkins diet. After while of being on it you start to eat less and less over time because the high protein/fat foods fill you up quickly and keep you from getting hungry again right away.

I think you'll find that the less carbs you eat the easier it gets to stop eating them completely. but you will still need to eat carbs daily, just keep it under 100 grams to start with , omit any type of sugar except for berries and apples for the first two weeks., after the two weeks you can incorporate just a tiny amount of what ever carb you like/miss, like beans tortilla, but keep it low portion and if you start to crave more after eating that torilla then don't eat it the remainder of the week and get back to eating no carbs again. I find that if I don't incorporate just a bit of carbs then I become fatigued/tired at the end of the day and not much energy to work out.

Hope this helps! Good luck and keep at it! Smile

You've come to the right place for support and advice.

I started Atkins last summer, fell off over the holidays and got back on early this year. I also got bored with the food and started cheating again. I decided a few weeks ago to start carb cycling after reading about the Spike Diet. I am low carb during the week and high carb on the weekends. After starting this I have lost more weight in the past few weeks than I did just doing Atkins the past few months. I still get the higher carb foods I enjoy eating and by Monday I'm so full from eating so much food I'm ready to cut back & go low carb again.

And btw, on my low carb days I don't eat eggs for breakfast. I usually have 3 sausage links, string cheese & coffee.

Hi,
I have 67 pounds to go until I reach my goal weight. I have been doing Atkins for 4 weeks now and I am getting bored with all the salads. I do not like many veggies so I am eating the same few over and over again. I also have difficulty eating eggs and ham/bacon every morning. Glad to join your posts for support.
Have a happy day!

I am also doing atkins ( combo with lower cal) and I love to make smoothies for breakfast! I also barely eat salads at all.... I try to have a nice peiceof protien and a small portion of low cab veg. I go to the atkins website for ideas. I hope that can helpyu no to feel bored with your food! I find that I love eating atkins because there are so many flavors available when your able to have a small amount of cheese, avocado, and fats. fat tastes good afterall! =)

I alternate breakfast of atkins shakes or MIM, or ham & cream cheese rolls. I only eat eggs on the weekends as well. Since moving on to OWL, I have added a bit o strawberries and small amounts of low carb fruit with cottage cheese too.

Hi Lemonpi Smile
Ok, your screen name makes me want pie by golly~ I started Atkins just this week and I have 26 pounds to lose. I understand what you mean by getting tired of eggs so the other day I had a tomato with mozzarella on top and broiled it until the cheese bubbled, then added a few strips of bacon. It was yummy Smile I would love to have you as a buddy, I was wondering how to go about getting buddies myself Smile

An oldie but goodie... "It's Not French Toast" I don't know where it came from originally, but it's been kicking around for years.

I don't have the carb counts readily available, but I calculate the whole recipe and then divide by the number of patties I make - for me it varies each time.

Ingredients:
1/2 of a 3-oz bag of unflavored pork rinds
2 eggs
1/4 cup heavy cream
3 pkts. Splenda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Crush the pork rinds - I usually use my food processor - set aside.

Beat eggs well and then mix with the remaining ingredients and beat again. Add crushed pork rinds to the egg/cream mixture and allow to sit for 5 minutes. Mixture will thicken to a "gloppy" phase.

Meanwhile, heat skillet or griddle with butter or oil, and when hot, fry pancake style until golden brown on both sides. Serve with your favorite low-carb syrup.

There are several good recipes on this site as well for different kinds of pancakes - I've made several. If you check my profile I've commented on those I've tried and liked.

My daughter and I have also found that if I make quiche out of eggs, or little "muffins" with eggs and ground beef it takes the repetiveness away some.

Good luck!

I am doing atkins as well, and I have tried hard to be creative so that I don't get bored and mess up.
I found this website, it has tons of low carb recipes, then I just chose the ones that were suitable for the phase I was in.

This recipe is my favourite and you can eat it in Phase 1. Flaxmeal Sandwich buns. And it takes less than 15 mins to make and cook. I have used them for hamburger buns and with my eggs in the morning. I hope this helps!! Enjoy!
