IT's My Birthday! And we are having Mexican HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh you are lucky! Mexican can be easy if you can get past the chips & tortillas & rice! I am not a bean person, so that was never an issue (if they even are), I love fajitas, they are great, the meat, chicken or shrimp & veggies should keep you on track, just leave the tortillas alone! Burrito, minus the tortilla is really good too! I just had "tacos" last night. Imagine all the taco fixings but the shell is a leaf of romaine lettuce, yum yum. So many yummy choices, be creative & you should be fine!

Taco salad no beans, don't eat shell. With that said, I've personally (and oddly) have been able to have whatever I wanted every time I have mexican and not have it stall or make me gain weight. I do not know if this is just me, but the last few times I went I ate corn chips and salsa, and 2 steak soft tacos, or other forbidden items and never had an issue with it. I guess my body doesn't react to corn type products as much as others might.

Taco salads usually are a calorie bomb. They throw tons of things in there - just because it's a salad doesn't mean it's healthy.

I'd go for fajitas or something grilled with beans and rice. I normally get grilled white fish (sol, mahi mahi) and it comes with some rice and beans - other options are chicken or shrimp, which are equally tasty. Eat the fish first then try to avoid the rice and eat a little beans. Or split it up and take half home for lunch tomorrow or dinner. Drink water and avoid too many chip appetizers. Good luck!!!!

Oh just saw the chinese thing. You can get steammed veggies and chicken and they give you sauce on the side. Easy enough, dunk the fork into the sauce then into the food or don't use it at all. No carbs and low calorie! I love it - and I love it with tofu as well if that's something you like.

Chinese never works for me. Too many sauces with all those hidden carbs. And I love rice so it is always best that I don't have it in front of me as my lack of self control shows up at the oddest times.

Hey thanks a million for the suggestions, I was gonna go for the fajitas, but they did not offer them on their menu, so I went for a ground meat taco salad, no shell, no rice, no beans, extra cheese. I actually don't really watch calories and cannot have any beans or rice. I eat Atkins.

I did great not eating any tortilla chips...my entire lunch was 11.6 carbs!!!

And though I LOVE tortilla chips I kept telling myself, that there will come a time in the future that I will be able to have them once in a great while if I want....but I am trying very hard to remember that until I am down 110 pounds, these sort of things cannot happen....\

Now I am having a nice yummy ribeye and an artichoke...honey is making me dinner and we are gonna watch a couple movies...then sugar free jello for Bday cake!
