I guess I'm going to show my age here, but some of my favorites is by Huey Lewis, simply because the rhythm works well with fast walking on the treadmill. I have a good mixture between 70's rock, pop, country, etc. I'm going to try out some of these groups listed. I'm always looking to expand my music library. Good thread.
First goal: 299 lbs - completed 11/8/14

Though it is not the music I listen to when not working out, my running playlist is almost entirely rap and hip-hop. Lots of Jay-Z, Eminem, Kanye, old P.Diddy, heck even some Run DMS and Beastie Boys. It is the only stuff that gets me pumped. (And weirdly, due to a suggestion on here a long time ago, I have Firework by Katy Perry and LOVe it when it comes on.)

I have to listen to stuff that is kind of calm when I go out for a jog or I can't relax at all. 80s stuff like John Cougar Mellencamp, Heart, OMD, Howard Jones or some country tunes. If my Alice in Chains or Metallica type stuff comes on I have to skip them or I feel like I get stressed. It's weird. I like that stuff when I am driving or cleaning my house.

I know one song I had to remove from my playlist. 22 Jacks has a song called On My Way. In the lyrics they sing "We're running in circles We're running out of breath". I swear to you every time those lyrics pop in my ear, I'm near the end of my workout trying to determine if the people in the vicinity are CPR certified.

Such a de-motivating workout song.
