Best advice I can give you is look through the recipes! Amazing information right at your fingertips - who doesn't want to know the calories they are eating? You can also enter your favorite recipes and learn the calories in them.
I also love getting tips from other members on here about exercise and eating habits. Recently, after advice, I've been trying to break my breakfast and lunch into two small meals so I am constantly eating throughout the day.
Another good tip is get moving! Any little bit of exercise can only help you on your weight loss goals. As time goes on, exercise will become easy and fun and you'll enjoy it.
Don't stress about slip ups either, stress causes weight gain. You're only human and there's only so much you can resist. Women's Health magazine is a great magazine for fitness tips and it's cheap to subscribe, I'd recommend that as well.
