You can certainly spend a lot of time on here. I have the fatsecret app on my phone and it's been a huge help in counting calories. I'm lost without it.

I keep it minimized on my computer at work all day so I can easily add my food in. Water, and meals etc...... Guess you could say that I am addicted too!

Definitely addicted.
Welcome to the club.
You say you want a cheeseburger but all I hear is "I need love" - a comic strip on the fridge at work.
You have failed only when you quit trying. Until then, you're still in the act of progression. So, never quit trying and you'll never be a failure.

I'm addicted too. XD I read just about everything people post everyday, rarely commenting, meal planning for the next day, browsing recipes...though I have several cookbooks and I think I'm going to challenge myself to cook at least 2 recipes a week.
Even got my Hubby on here now. :3 I also journal everyday. O.O FS has me hook, line and sinker. XD
One choice at a time. One day at a time.

Yeah, I'm on here probably too much as well. I still learn a lot from the forums, and it's all interesting stuff. Hard not to keep coming back.

Yeah I dont do the Facebook thing, so I guess this is my alternative. I just love reading what people have to say and how everyone is doing. Its great to be involved in a community where everyone is striving for the same goal.

Yeah, I keep it open all day to- I tell myself its to see my food log, so I can see what I've eaten so far of what I planned for the day and make adjustments. But its also to see what interesting discussions are taking place. I think its worth it because of how much you learn from other people's experiences. Like the fact that eating more is sometimes a good thing, as I discovered this week!

I don't know if I am so much addicted to the site as I am obsessed with losing weight. When does being focused start being obessed?

I spend more time on here then facebook. I log on multiple times in a day if I can get away to do it (no internet phone for me) as I've learned I sometimes forget everything I ate if I do it at the end of the day. Close to the end of each day I log in my activity. I've found when I'm not really good about it I gain and when I'm super good I lose.

weigh in
Good luck! I weigh in every day which has to stop. It is too easy to get caught up in the excitement of seeing the scale drop so much in a week-that is because of water weight I am sure.

Need suggestions on healthy/low-calorie foods.
You can use shakes for a few days. I have used the Atkins shakes and they are very good tasting. Soups are good though as stated above you may have to puree them. You could puree or blend cottage cheese ...
