Over a week ago, my boyfriend and I were cleaning up around the house. Not a bad day, really.
Until, while moving a rug from one room to another, I managed to step on the pronged end of an unplugged power bar. In my bare feet.
The result - the entire arch of my foot was bruised. (And still is, more than 10 days later!) In addition, I had scrapes and bleeding and a couple of little tiny punctures. I got a tetanus shot and some very expensive antibacterial cream.
The fallout of all this - I couldn't walk properly until recently.
And now I feel bummed out, lazy, tired, crabby and completely unmotivated to do anything at all!
I still have about 40lbs to lose and I don't know where to go from here.
Where's my desire for change? What do I do now?

In my experience (you sound a lot like me about a month ago after being sick) I had to kick my butt and make myself work out even though i didn't want to. After my first day my spirits lifted some and after the 2nd i was back to my old self. Good luck!

Here, how about this. Last spring, I lost 45 pounds by clean eating and exercise. In early June, I had a terrible gallbladder attack and with a blockage, had to have it removed. As a result, I was laid up literally for a week, and couldn't exercise without pain for 2 weeks. (Or at least that's as long as I tried before giving up.) I felt so sorry for myself that I just quit. As a result, I gained all but 10 pounds of that 45 back in just 5 months. Fast forward to January when I had start all over again. There is nothing worse than realizing one day that you worked your butt off and lost it, and then have go through all of that do it again. You've lost 60 pounds!! That's a lot!! Remember how crappy you felt when you first started and it seemed like you had a mountain to climb? You're well over halfway there! Why fall back and have to start over? If you can't walk, why not do something else? Work on your arms or abs or shoulders or back. Swim. Anything that will keep you active and hold you accountable for burning off what you're eating.
Take it from me, feeling down and out is not worth the backslide you'll find yourself in if you give up now.
Go for it, girl. As your signature says, "bring it on."

Your body got used to moving and then you quit. Of course it's lethargic. You'll have to jump-start it with pure willpower, but once you do you'll feel like moving again.
Do something simple like take a walk.

Thanks guys!
I guess I'm mostly feeling sorry for myself right now.
And you're right shmiller...I have come a long way, and if I stop now, I'll have to start all over again. And it was crazy f'n hard at the start! I'd rather start again from this midpoint and just have it be crazy hard...
Time to kick myself in the butt, but hard!
