I workout extra hard and push myself to make progress -- either in lifting a heavier weight, or more reps, or a longer or faster intervals. It reminds me that even if the weight isn't moving, I'm still making progress. And ultimately, that matters to me more than what the scale says. I want to be smoking hot, and no one is going to weigh me to be sure that I am. Progress isn't always mathematical (I say that as a true English teacher who doesn't believe in math on any level!)
