We believe we'll be so happy if we lose this extra weight. Maybe yes or maybe no. I can't answer that for you for definition of happiness is different for everyone. So, besides losing weight, what is your true & honest wish for YOUSELF? (Please don't talk about how weight loss is "not" the answer for happiness for we already know thatSmile)(oh! This is not just for calorie count group. All are welcome hereSmile)

Lily this is a great question. Losing the weight was not a choice for me it was out of a live or diet issue. I think losing the weight has brought me more enjoyment out of life to do more things and move more freely with less weight to carry! Other things in my life such as friends, family, my career and the people I help is what makes me happy. My workouts also make me happy to feel my body move naturally and sweating lol.

Beside getting the body I want (will it happen anyway? did it already happen and I can't see it? it is pure vanity at this point.) I want to live long and healthy. I want to be able to do anything I want to do, without ever being stopped by my weight or health issue.
health is a choice. it's a gift we choose to do to ourselves.

I'm thinking of all kinds of altruistic things, but the real answer to my main goal in life is:

To have enough money that I don't have to work and retire as early as possible to some tropical island with my sweetie. That would make me truly happy.

Lets start a lottery pool!!! I have that goal too Kate but then again I love my career so much that right now if I had not had it I would be lost... Ultimately would be to work for myself full time and have my own gym studio and spa to help people!

Own and operate my own eclectic coffee shop that features local artists (bands, painters, etc.). I don’t care if it isn’t super lucrative. I just want to be my own boss doing something I love. This would cover all aspects of my favorite things! Business, coffee, art, and music. It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine.

To learn discipline so that I can apply myself to the aspects of music I've always wanted to learn. =) And then to use them to make amazing music that makes people smile.

I wish that I had gone to culinary school and gone on to open a small community restaurant focusing on organic cooking, locally produced bounty of beef, poultry, vegetables, wines, cheeses, etc. Since that is not going to happen now, I would like to continue to improve my health so my husband and I can fully enjoy our retirement of traveling, community service work and promoting local farms in our area.

I'm working toward it and it is getting published as an author; hopefully within the next few years. Also becoming totally fluent in Spanish and maybe another language like French too...

So, I see that, for our happiness, 1. keeping our health, 2. being able to use our own talents and 3. spending quality time with our loved ones are important. And for all of these, it takes some effort to make it happen! Thanks, guys for your comments!

Great question!! mine is a selfish wish. Aside from losing the weight and looking fabulous on my horse, I wish that I will have enough money to enter enough horse shows so I can have a successful show year. I did pretty good last year but I have new goals at a higher level this year. Ultimately, I wish I could open my own equestrian facility and be successful at it

I like your question- gets me thinking... I would like for myself... to be able to live life as a "regular" person. I don't want to be the largest person in the room worrying about if the chairs will hold me. I don't want to worry about making others uncomfortable trying to accommodate my large body. I want to be able to participate in activities instead of making excuses as to why I can't. I have always want to try skiing! Not to mention I would like to shop in a "regular" clothing store! I feel if I have given to myself enough to be a healthy weight then I will have more to give others. I enjoy volunteer work and would love to have more energy to do just that! Give!

I am learning patience. Patience is making me a more happy and tolerable person.

I'm learning that counting calories is not unlike creating a budget, restraining myself from consuming items goes hand in hand with being a consumer and buying things I don't need, and this is all making me tolerate the things I see myself formerly doing, in other people.

I truly wish that with the weight loss, I will acheive excellent health, excellent finances, and excellent balance in my life.

I feel I'm getting there.

Mostly what I want is what most of you have already posted and that is to be healthy. It's not a vanity thing like can I look good in a bikini...I haven't even brought myself to even put on a swim suit in years. I do want to be around for the people I love and to do community work too. Thanks for asking this question Lily.

Lily, great questions!
I wish to learn the most about myself, not just in eating but about me and who I can be.

You say you want a cheeseburger but all I hear is "I need love" - a comic strip on the fridge at work.

You have failed only when you quit trying. Until then, you're still in the act of progression. So, never quit trying and you'll never be a failure.

Thanks Pixi! You're a character and I'm glad that you are my friend. And you are right about this not being a race but for a lifetime.
