Now that the kids are getting older. I feel I can do something for myself, that is it loss weight. For myself.I am counting my calories . I been trying to diet on and off for a yr on fatsecet. but I always give up. I need someone to kick me in the butt and remind me That this worth doing and that I can do. So busy busy busy, but I just want to feel and be healthy Smile So I am giving up my vice, Coke. Plan my meals as not to eat out and just take little steps. One habit I discovered I had to break it the boredom munching at the end of the meal when I'm done but the kids are not. It works better to leave the table right away so you're not tempted, but I feel it's healthy for a family to sit together at meal times. Now I simply put the food out of my reach except maybe some veggies so it's not as conveniant to snack.

Maybe some mini goals may help? I no longer think of the end picture because when I think about is seems so unachievable. At the moment it is really helping to plan my meals for the next day. It seems to really give me focus and puts the brake on my hand trailing to the biscuit tin Wink
Best of the weather is getting a little nicer now so I am walking about more - every little helps.

My weight has been a roller coaster at best since I was about 25. In the last 5 years I found out I am Diabetic. That kind of made the yo-yo worse. It gave me a much bigger excuse to get depressed and give up.

When I started looking back at my life and the times I was in the best shape, it was times that I had friends that I worked out with. We shared the same goals. More importantly, we helped each other hold ourselves accountable.

I am now on track to be healthier than ever. I am off the insulin shots (was up to 5 a day)and am on a mission to help as many others get there as I can. If I can do it so can you.

The best advice I have is three things. 1. Find as many accountability partners as you can and be assertive. That's right, actually hold each other accountable. 2. Try to simplify things as much as you can. An example would be pre-hard boil enough eggs for you to put two in a zip lock bag for each morning as you head out the door. there are many ideas like this to make life easier. Life happens every day. You can not let it get in the way of your goals. 3. Take minigirl's advice. You have to have goals. you also have to have a plan. A goal without a plan is nothing more than a dream.

You can do it. I never thought I could lose so much weight, but I just stuck with it- slowly, but steadily. Don't try to lose it all at once, or you'll put yourself in a starve-binge cycle. Focus on healthy eating - it's not only good for you, but as a mom, it teaches your children healthy eating habits too. And do you want your children to end up overweight too?

I dont find time to calculate calories and keep track but it really put me in place when I did so I've kept it up in I'm still loosing weight but now I exercise too so I'm calculating exercise ...
