This one really is for the ladies.

How do you stave of the sweet cravings near your monthly cycle?

I am getting there and I NEED something, on induction, but don't want to eat any of the bars of the Atkins foods yet...any suggestions?Doubt

I just go ahead and get some russel stover sugar free candy and eat it... it may cause a stall for a few days but it does the chocolate fix for me without eating too many carbs! Be prepared to gain wait with TOM because I usually gain 4 lbs with that visitation but take it right back off.

Those candies are good for constipation also. At least for me.

Ooooh sorry for the TMI.

I like to mix splenda, cream, and cream cheese together. It is exactly like cream cheese frosting. you can also add the sugar free syrups to get a raspberry or chocolate flavor.

I don't like jello so I stay away from it. If you like, it, the sugar free kind is allowed.

@ alexandra, good for you for staying away from the Atkins products. Some people do fine on them. In my 8+ months on atkins, and I was no different btw, started using the bars or shakes and the weight loss almost stops. Every bodies bodies are different though. @ E, I am with you. I do the same treat but sometimes I add Splenda and all natural sugar free PB and or some protein powder. I even made a recipe for it so easily added to the food journal. I haven't done it yet, but heard you can lay it on wax paper and put it in the fridge for the candy bar 'hand to mouth' feel. ~tig

I have found that the Atkins bars cause me to stall, but I do enjoy them. What I do now is cut one bar up into bite-size pieces and store them in the fridge. I only take out one bite a time when I want a treat. The amout of sugar alcohols I get from that is minimal and no more stalls. And, I absolutely love sugar-free jello with whipped topping. When I do have cravings - and no jello made - I drink so much water that I feel full and the idea of eating anything become totally unappetizing. Hope that helps!

When I've needed my chocolate fix I have put almond milk, a tsp. of pure baking cocoa and sweeten it with stevia (you could use splenda)and crushed ice in my blender, then sip it with a straw and enjoy my dark chocolate shake.

Is unsweetened almond milk okay while in induction? I was confused because I know we can't have nuts.

i've been drinking unsweetened almond milk since the beginning of my WL and eating nuts - it's one of those things you'll have to try and see how it goes. And the thing with nuts isn't so much that you can't have them on induction, it's that people tend to over indulge - I limit myself to 1 serving a day.

after the first 2 weeks on induction we can have nuts. unsweetened almond milk is one of the induction foods. 1 serving has 1 net carb.
