Hi all,

We just released a new and (improved) app for the iPhone and as fate would have it, the app does one thing really well... crash.

We are so very sorry for the inconvenience and are extremely disappointed.

The app was tested extensively so we are not sure why this has occurred but are working to resolve it immediately.

Yes there is. Just search for it in the Android Market. It's pretty well done, IMHO. I love the barcode scanning feature to look for foods in the database.

If by "crashing" you mean the annoying function of exiting the app after saving a single item than yes my version (the newest version)crashes. I hope this is fixed with the newest announced change. Otherwise this app is very nice and I have used a few other. The barcode scanninig is a real plus.

My iPhone prompted me this morning (Jan 2) to update the fatsecret app. I did so and it crashes every time I try to launch it.

Now if I go to the app store and try to download the latest version, it won't let me because fatsecret is already installed.

I thought about uninstalling fatsecret, but my iPhone warns me that I will lose all my data. So, the question is whether or not I should do so, and if the data currently backed up on the web site (here) will transfer back to my iPhone if/when I successfully install the latest version or if the empty data set on the iPhone will delete all the data on the web site when it syncs.

This is a killer app--I've lost nearly 30 pounds in a little over 2 months--and things go better with it.

I did notice that I now have two of the app on my iPad and iPhone. The new version didn't seem to over right the old.

Another update...

Good news: a new iPhone app (version 2.0.1) is now available as an update in the App Store.

Not so good news: this update will not fix the app on iPhone 3G and older iPod Touch's.

Silver lining: another app update (version 2.0.2) will be available shortly to fix iPhone 3G and iPod Touch issues.

Sorry for the delay. We think Apple folks will really like the new app and we'll post again when 2.0.2 is available.

thank you fatsecret team. i have the 3G iPhone, and it exits the app every time i add a food or exercise entry. The barcode is a little shaky as well. I look forward to version 2.0.2.

Thanks. I did just that. Now i get the login option. But when i try to i get a notice that there is a missmatch between username and password. But i know i am using the right ones. Sad

Final update...

Thanks to the good folk at Apple, version 2.0.2 is now available for download in the App Store. This version should get your iPhone 3G's and iPod Touch's humming.

This morging loggin in from the Iphone app worked.
I only forgat to change the settings to keep the info from the phone, so all was gone afterwards.
Luckily I only had 3 days to refill.

The good thing is that this stress, anger and retyping the info, made me burn an aditional 25 Kcal.

So now I am up and running (while still sitting at the office Razz)
