Lowering my sites for 2011 to losing 1 pound a week or 52 pounds in 2011 having 82 pounds to go I should be 30 pounds from my goal this time next year.

Awesome job Brenda. I know that feeling and yes dropping inches is just as good as dropping those pounds. Keep up the great work and hope you had a wonderful day.Smile

funny thing for me is several years ago I lost quite a bit of weight and I gave away all my fat clothes and bought all new size 16 and 18 clothes..nice ones..spent way too much ..

then gained all the weight back and quickly was back into size 24 (tight) jeans and baggy 1x t shirts..which I had to go out and buy.

other than a sweater and a jacket that was ALL i had that fit me..a pair of jeans, a couple pair of shorts and a half dozen t shirts and some very tight bras and underwear ..even my shoes were tight.

so now I'm getting back into all those clothes that I bought a few years ago, and they are all in nearly new conidition..some have never been worn (good thing too cause my old clothes were wearing out really fast..not even good enough to give away !!)

Brenda--

I know exactly what you mean! I have a closet full of 16/18/20 clothes that I either haven't been able to wear for over a year, or have NEVER been able to wear. Two summers ago I lost 70 pounds. I got rid of all my "fat clothes" and bought new clothes. Some were even a size smaller because I was going to "get into them." Then I went the opposite direction and gained ALL the weight back plus. I had to buy 3x and 24 pants last year. Which are all too big now thank god.

Your comment about the shoes is funny. I have noticed the weight loss in my shoes and jewelry! I have bracelets that were too tight that fit better now.

Good luck and keep on going!!

yeah after 40 years of trying everything BUT low carb and failing miserably, and then having carbs nearly kill me with blood sugar problems, vision loss and neuropathy..I'm so glad I realized the truth, carbs will kill you !! Plan to get not only into the 18/16 clothes but also go have to buy smaller.

Good for you!!! I've only bought three new clothing items in the last two months (one was for a special occasion and one was for Halloween), but just going to the store (or your closet!) and being able to wear things you couldn't wear before is a fantastic feeling. In the past, trying on clothes usually depressed me; now I'm using my tiny dressing room "successes" as motivation.

yeah I'm going to go through my clothes during the wicked weather later this week when I have nothing else I have to do..and see what fits right and what doesn't and start packing some things away.

I've been doing a LOT of exercising and I took my measurements yesterday again, and even though I hadn't lost any more pounds I am down several inches..which means I should fit into a few more things..woo hoo
