I took on the challange to loose 10 pounds by sept. 1, It's not gonna happenSad I found out that my sister had a heart attack, she has COPD, my brother had his appendix burst and he got infection and had to be in hospital for 2 weeks, then out of thw blue he came home on Monday and my sister-n-law, his wife they found not breathing and my nephew who is 18 and my brother had to roll her off the bed and perform CPR but could not resuccitate her and she passed away at the age of 41. very young. I am soon to be 51 and I am beside myself with all of this and have put on 15 pounds since the 2nd week of August. HELP. I think I am ready now to settle down and get back on track. Please, any enchourageing words would help. Thanks Rolling Eyes Shock Question Question Question

I am sorry to hear that. Hope everything gonna be fine. I know it is very hard to think about losing weight, and logging to FS while social & health issues. Anyway, just keep in mind, your weight loss plan is not for 2 or 3 months, it will be for your whole life. Recently, you need to lose 10 pounds which is not that huge number. You can do it and reach it.

there are many issues in our life, and it won't stop coming up. Just forget the past days, and start with a new day. We gonna live for one life, and we do not have time to miss up something. Whatever is happening, keep your healthy food & workout.

I am so sorry to hear about everything you have had to deal with lately, it is really hard to focus on yourself when you have so many other things to deal with on your plate. Stay strong, get tracking again and before you know it you will have lost that 15 lbs and then some.

Hi Deedee - you've had to deal with a lot in a short time frame. Emotional eating is very common and it's a way some people (a lot of people) cope with stress and pain and loss. It may be hard, but try not to get down on yourself over the weight gain. You're dealing with things bigger than a few pounds here. My advice to you is to grieve with your family, do what you can to focus on yourself when you can and to do your best to avoid situations where food is used for comfort. But in the end, if you do fall back a little during this tough time - it's OK. Don't beat yourself up over it. You'll be ok in the long run. The fact that you recognize what's going on is a great thing - and you'll be 100% back on track before you know it. Being healthy is a life long commitment - and we're all bound to be faced with adversity, pain and loss that might derail us for a short time. The trick is to not let it control you for too long. Hang in there...I'm sorry for your loss and the difficulties you're facing right now.

water after eating?
Water has no calories. It will not make you fatter. There isn't a lot of research about when to drink water because water won't hurt you unless you are drinking gallons of it per day.
