So because I just got a new phone yesterday I was searching through the market and stumbled upon this calorie counter app, downloaded it, and ta~dah here I am!! I know that sound rediculous but I am super EXCITED about this. I have been planning over the summer to make some new goals as my children start school again. Obviously one of my goals is weight loss and excersize! This will be the perfect thing to help keep me on track! Anyways, I am turning 30 in a few months... Believe it or not I am EXCITED about this too! I think that 30 is going to bring me a whole new perception on life and living. I feel like I am finally feeling comfortable with womanhood in general! LOL!

I have two children 8 and 10. With my first child I went from 142 to 223 AFTER delivery. I did lose that weight and even a little more only to find out shortly after I reached my goal I was once again pregnant. I was super happy about the pregnancy but scared to death of the weight gain. I managed to gain a normal amount of weight through my second pregnancy however I have never lost it. I am tired of the fad diets and starving etc. I am welcoming the thought of slow and steady and maintaining a long healthy happy life. I have a loving supportive husband who has been by my side through all of this. This past year has been really difficult for me though because he has had to start working out of town alot. This has been something we have always known would happen, although the reality of it hit a bit harder than I thought. Another one of my goals is to make this year (I go by school year) not a poor me year. I am taking control of my thoughts and emotions and turning them into motivators! I have really become an emotional eater and I am ready to turn that around! I am so happy to be here and I love reading all the posts and advice!!

I also found this site because of my blackberry app.

It works.

Took me 8 months to go from 247 to 190 by counting calories (not too many, not too few) and adding a nominal amount of exercise (4 hours per week).

Same here ... found the FS app on my HTC Incredible. Ended up seeking out an older version though, since I'm doing Weight Watchers and was disappointed that the current updates have removed WW Points support.

I think that's how a lot of us have found it. I started on here after I installed it on my Droid Incredible.

Same here. I used to use another site, but it wasn't as well organized and didn't have as many features as this site (unless you paid for it). I found this one while searching for a calorie counting app on my droid. I love the ability to scan bar codes instead of having to look stuff up. And being able to enter stuff in the web site and the phone and have them sync is awesome.

I'm trying to find the app in the Android Market, but it doesn't show up on my Droid. Anyone have any suggestions on why not or maybe where I might find it?

Thanks...

The calorie counter app is my best friend. If you aren't using the barcode scanner, you are spending way too much time entering info. Thank my Droid and Fatsecret for being able to keep track of all of this. When I really looked at all of the functionality, I couldn't believe that calorie counting could be so easy and SO MUCH FUN!!! It makes it SOOOOO easy. I'm shedding pounds by the minute!

Hi, I'm new here Smile I just recently got the droid 2 and found the Calorie Counter app and love it! Could you guys help me with how to sync my phone to this website? I would love to be able to add foods/exercise on the computer every once in a while, too. Thanks!

mlk1087: The sync is automatic. Just make sure you create an account at fatsecret.com. I had it first, and when I got my droid, I simply entered my fatsecret.com credentials.

I have it on both my Droid and my iPad. I definitely prefer the iPad version.

Hey There!
Yep, I'm with you there. When I don't see the numbers I somehow can kid myself into thinking that the junk food I just ate wasn't as bad as it actually was. Honesty is the best policy. :)

Welcome, Farmer! I'm going to reiterate the other comments on the 1000 calorie plan - that's too few calories for anyone who has 100 pounds to lose. That's probably too few for someone ...

Hello from South Texas
When I cook at home, I create a recipe that I add to my cookbook, that way I can get an accurate calorie count, and also duplicate at a later date.
